Who runs KUESA
KUESA is governed by a Patron, an Advisory Committee, and an elected Executive Body, as set out in Chapter 4 of the KUESA Constitution. The Executive Body is dissolved and re-elected at the end of every academic year.
Meet the team
The current KUESA Executive Body.
A Senior Member of Faculty in the Department of Economics, within the School of Business, Economics and Tourism, with a direct and bona fide interest in the growth and success of KUESA.
- •Chairs the Advisory Committee
- •Facilitates linkages between KUESA and the corporate world
- •Performs any other function prescribed to the office from time to time
A seven-member body with an oversight role over the Executive Body: the Patron, the sitting Chairperson, two faculty members, and three alumni members of good standing.
- •Provides advisory services to the Executive Body
- •Receives and reviews departmental reports, and provides recommendations
- •Receives and reviews financial statements and audit reports, and provides recommendations
- •Inspects the activities of the Executive Board and the Association at large
The Executive Body
The Association's chief governing organ, elected annually. Every position on the Executive Body is elective.
- •Head of the Executive Body
- •Preside over Annual and Special General Meetings, and chair Executive Board meetings
- •Serve as the official spokesperson of the Association
- •Enter into memoranda of understanding with other bodies corporate, in consultation with the Executive Board
- •Appoint interim office holders when a position falls vacant
- •Present an End-of-Year report at the Annual General Meeting
- •Vet incoming members into the various sub-committees
- •Principal assistant to the Chairperson, deputizing when needed
- •Becomes interim Chairperson if that seat falls vacant
- •Oversees the operations of the sub-committees
- •Oversees the Association's mentorship programmes
- •Coordinates the operations of the Alumni
- •Chairs the Secretary General's sub-committee
- •Deputizes the Vice Chairperson if both the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson are unavailable
- •Serves as Chief of Staff to the Chairperson
- •Handles all correspondence and keeps the minutes of meetings
- •Maintains member records together with the Director of Operations
- •Organizes Corporate Social Responsibility outreach activities
- •Serve as the chief representatives of all first-year students
- •Present first-years' petitions and concerns to the Executive Board
- •Perform any other functions assigned to them from time to time
